Marvellous Dance Interview with Metropluz Entertainment

1. Who are you and what do you do?
Ans: Am Marvellous Eteng by name, well known as Marvellouz Dance, hails from Cross River State, a dancer, a performing musician and a model. Am into events and plans, PR, Consultancy and Management.

2. Why do you do what you do?
Ans: Passion! driven by entertainment, aside the fact that it gives me special kinda joy seeing people happy and fulfilled when they hear me sing or watch me dance. Entertainment is a good source of income.

3. How do you work?
Ans: I work at my leisure.. it's not something forced.. I enjoy doing Wah I do so I consider it a hobby.

4. What’s your background?
Ans:  Am the last child of a Family of Six(Including mum & Dad), 2 boys and 2 girls. Studied Mass Communication at Kadpoly. Growing wasn't easy, but am glad they shaped me for the person I am today.

5. What’s integral to the work of an artist?
Ans: Passion, dedication, smart work, hard work, consistancy, networking, and above all prayers.

6. What role does the artist have in society?
Ans: An artist owes it to the society to be of a good role model, to preach, motivate and inspire the society via their music in other to impact positively.

7. How has your practice change over time?
Ans: Change and trends are constant, and a good entertainer should work along the tides. I have learn and mastered the art to evolve alongside time and trends by constantly working on my self as an entertainer through branding and rebranding and also changing the directions, flows and concept of my contents to fit the purpose of which is needed.

8. What genre do you most identify with?
Ans: Am a die hard lover of Afro Pop and RnB.

9. What Genre do you most enjoying doing?
Ans: Afro Pop.

10. What’s your strongest memory of your childhood?
Ans: lols, that would be when I stole my Late Mum's Egusi Soup from the pot and pour spoon filled of the soup inside my front pocket.. lol.. yeah! I did dah! Lol, well as a kid I had that childish notion that everything should be inside the pocket hahahahaha. Can't forget that day..

11. What’s your scariest experience?
Ans: That's a long story...can't talk about it here...

12. Describe a real-life situation that inspired you?
Ans: I think that would be my Hit song 'AMEN' was inspired by an old lady who had to beg a driver to take her to her destinations because she had only but what is required. The driver refused but I asked her to get inside and i offered to pay for her.. upon getting inside the Taxi she showered me with all manners of prayers until she got to her destination. . All I could say was "Amen Mama!  Amen Mama!! Amen Mama!!!" All her prayer points is my entire Chorus in my "AMEN" song.

13. What’s your most embarrassing moment?
Ans: Well i think that would be about five years ago when I was just a Dancer with my former crew "2CLOSE" Wah happened was I freeze in the middle of an intense dance performance because I had forgotten the dance routine(Steps) My head was totally blanked that night.. couldn't remember the steps i fixed lol...I just freeze and stood right there in the middle of the stage. Lol geeez!

14. What jobs have you done other than being an artist?
Ans: I Have my own Private company namely" Perfect Event and Plans" my company is fully into organization, Events, Seminar, governmental and Private Ceremonies, weddings etc Am also into Consultancy, PR and Hotel Management.

15. Why Music?
Ans: Music is a source of endless happiness, it's gives me this unconditional joy...it's an escape for me..where I can be myself and also a means people can hear me.

16. What memorable responses have you had to your music career?
Ans: That would be in Zamfara State and Abuja.. during the "Own Your Life Tour" the reception I was given and the love I was shown was out of this world.

17. Is the artistic life lonely? What do you do to counteract it?
Ans: well I can't say no and the same time I can't say yes..it varies with each entertainer. I think it boils down to one's personality. As for me, am an intovert, I love my space and I love being alone.. so to me it's never lonely.

18. What do you dislike about the Music world?
Ans: Well my dislikes would be..
1• Godfatherism
2• Homosexual
3• Exploitation
4• Stereotyping Of Women
5• Drug and Alcoholism.

19. What do you like about your work?
Ans: Aside the many financial benefits..it makes me fulfilled and happy.

20.  Should art be funded?
Ans: Yes ofcouse... finance is the bed rock of very investment..the importance of money in the life of an entertainer can never be over emphasized.

21. What role does arts funding have?
Ans: just like i said previously,  the importance of money in the life of an entertainer cannot be over emphasize. Funding enable the artist to foot his/her day-to-day bills, pay for studio sessions, photo session, Shoot videos, pay be for promotion(Blogs, TV, Radio) etc.

22. What makes you angry?
Ans: Lies, betrayers, back bitting and if you touch my food.
